1 take time to figure what you like to do
2 take time to figure what you can be paid for to do
3 look around you and see what makes them happy
Dig within and around to find out. But doing things still to figure, not thinking in bed all day. Hee. Now I know.
How to find what we want to do with our lives
Posted in on by
While browsing through lots of articles on thus website about life and work, thought this is really good. I'm still figuring what I want to do with my time and what areas to focus on. I think it's good to ponder about it rather than living and letting time go by... Funny, the author herself took steps to figure throughout her life.
She inspires me and encourages me
- to keep inquiring
- to put my best foot forward in whatever I choose to take up
- that having a balanced life is possible
- to focus on your own abilities, passion and needs, not crave for what others have as we are all unique and have different paths. Different people will choose to make different sacrifices.
- research on the Job role and go for it. Not be afraid of trying different things when we are still young. Good to start part time first, esp in sec school, to exp different fields.
- keep seeking improvement and wisdom. My self realization was not easy but I'm glad i went through what I went through. Learnt it the hard way. Now I have to keep the lessons in mind and step it up. :)

So the final step of finding out where you should be is looking at everyone's life with a clear lens. Adult life is really hard. Finding out who we are, and finding someone to share our life with, and having kids and still having a life, and being able to pay for all of that: Impossible, really.
So you look around and see who is doing what part of that well. And you pick the sacrifices that they made. Because no life is perfect, but all lives have some things to offer. Be clear on what you're choosing and what you're giving up, and don't pick anyone's life if they tell you they have everything: they're lying.
