Sir John Templeton - moved out of Wall street to be away from the noise so he can make his own judgement and decisions. He took this search one step further with his faith, "If you begin with prayer, you will think more clearly and make fewer mistakes."

Their wealth came from being wise investors who didn't love money, and always looked well into the matter.

“Don't let the opinions of the average man sway you. Dream, and he thinks you're crazy. Succeed, and he thinks you're lucky. Acquire wealth, and he thinks you're greedy. Pay no attention. He simply doesn't understand.”

“Rich people have small TVs and big libraries, and poor people have small libraries and big TVs.”

A Biblical Perspective of Money and Materialism
According to Matthew 6:19-24 the citizens of Christ's Kingdom don't love money: they do not lay up
for themselves "treasures upon earth" (v. 19). They refuse to serve money because they know it's
impossible to serve both it and God (v. 24). If you have committed your life to acquiring wealth, you
are not a servant of God. If you are a friend of the world, you are an enemy of God (James 4:4). If you
love the world, the love of the Father is not in you (1 John 2:15 ). Matthew 6:25-34 adds that
Christians are not to be preoccupied with the necessities of life. They know God takes care of those
things vv. 31-32).

I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the desert
And all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain

I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

And this is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've recieved I will sow
