Feb: CNY , Valentine & Sundown BBQ

Chinese New Year was not bad. Cousin flew back from Germany with her husband. Glad they are working things out together  Happy that she finally found her partner even after 30 years old. Pretty amazing. They met while they were on the plane. The guy was on the flight back to Germany from Singapore while my cousin was on the way to UK to study her Masters. They chatted on the plane and left a good impression on each other. The flight is pretty long, I reckon about 13 hours to London. They exchanged emails and contacted each occasionally other ever since. Then he travelled to Uk to find her a few times. He also brought her to try skidding on the icy lake that made her squeal in fear and excitement. He learnt how to skid on the ice in a safe manner. I think that’s what they have to learn and practice to be prepared for icy situations on the road. Sounds pretty exciting to me!! I just love to hear love stories and how others find the person they like and want to spend time with.

Valentine’s Day. Haha. Hm… We decided to celebrate it few weeks after 14th Feb as it was CNY and I was going off for a holiday for a week. After returning from Kota Kinabalu I caught a cold and wasn’t feeling well for some time. So hence our plans changed again. Actually I’m not complaining because we had a few good Japanese meals and we completely enjoyed the sashimi together. So yummy!! Ichiban Boshi was recommended by my Bro and Sis-in-law. We went to Great World and order whatever they recommended.

There was this awesome butter mushroom soup. The mushroom fragrant and butter salt taste just takes our breath away! Would highly recommend it to everyone. We also had a set meal and there were just too many things in the set. There was Chuawanmushi, Salmon sashimi, fried salmon, soup, unagi, rice, 2 slices of orange and Fried prawns. Glad we only order 1 set to share. The price is very reasonable too. So that was one of the feast we had. We could not walk properly after the meal especially with our super full tummy… haha

CNY bbq at my place! Somehow I craved for bbq salty prawns and crab for almost a month and there was no occasion to eat those seafood. So my best girlies and their boys gather and prepared a cosy bbq feast. Sundown BBQ. We all put together a sumptuous meal and almost finished the food. Love the well presented salad. The crab was a bit disappointing as the fire was not able to cook it well. If we fire it for too long, the meat will become too dry… Think I will steam it the next time.
